An NBC News technician who worked in New York has died after testing positive for coronavirus.

‘Many of you were fortunate enough to work with Larry over the years, so you know that he was the guy you wanted by your side no matter where you were,’ Lack said.

He added that Stacy Brady, who is NBC’s executive vice president of field and production operations, had described Edgeworth as a ‘gentle giant who would give you the shirt off his back’.

Prior to working in the equipment room, Edgeworth had spent much of his 25 years at NBC as an audio technician, travelling around the world with correspondents.

Some of those correspondents paid tribute Edgeworth on Twitter following the news of his death.
