Diego Maradona set to quit as manager of Gimnasia after just two months in charge

Diego Maradona is reportedly set to resign as manager of Argentinean top-flight side Gimnasia after just over two months in the role.

The Argentine legend, who won the 1986 World Cup, is thought to have made his decision due to current club president Gabriel Pellegrino’s decision not to run for re-election.

It is now simply a case of when Maradona will depart, given the club have three matches left of the Superliga season left, with the 59-year-old’s mind seemingly made up, according to Argentinean outlet Clarin.
