Antoine Griezmann says Barcelona is 'not the easiest' place to play

Barcelona star Antoine Griezmann has admitted that his new club is ‘not the easiest place’ to play football as the £107million summer signing continues to adapt to life with the Spanish giants.

Griezmann sealed a mega-money move to the La Liga champions from Atletico Madrid this summer, although has failed to win over Barcelona fans since his arrival.

Plenty of big signings have fallen by the wayside after arriving at the Nou Camp, with many unable to find a way of integrating themselves into a side containing superstar Lionel Messi

Despite having the likes of Griezmann, Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele on the books, the Argentine genius is still very much carrying the bulk of attacking responsibility for Ernesto Valverde’s side, leaving many unconvinced of their new signing’s worth.

And the Frenchman has conceded that his transition hasn’t been the smoothest, but backed his ability to shine through in the long run.

‘Barcelona is not the easiest place [to play],’ he told Telefoot. ‘It’s a new team, a different club, new tactics and a new position and role for me. But it is what it is and it’s time to work everything. Trust me and everything will be good.’

‘My goal now is to be an important player in the club, have more minutes, score more goals, make decisive passes, qualify in the Champions League and be up there in the league, be ready for the national team [France] in March and also for Euro 2020.

‘I’m a player who thinks about the team. I can score many goals, but that is not my main goal. My goal is to help the team in any way I can.’
